Chris Yungbluth, Fire Chief (5901)
Fire Chief Chris Yungbluth joined the department in 1998 (originally an Arnolds Park Fire Department member) and has worked his way up in the department from being a general member to becoming the EMS Captain. He then served as Lieutenant until taking over as chief of the department in 2004. The department has re-elected him to serve a second term through 2012. Chris is a certified FFI, FFII and Fire Service Instructor I.
He is also a Nationally Registered EMT Paramedic and is employed full time at Lakes Regional Healthcare in the ambulance department. Chris is very active in the Dickinson County EMS Association and is a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Arnolds Park. Chris’s wife Tarica is also a FF1 and the department’s photographer and they have two daughters, Shalea and Emma. If you can catch Chris away from his love of firefighting, EMS and many other jobs, he enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.
Jim Hentges – Assistant Fire Chief (5902)
Assistant Chief Jim Hentges joined the department in 2005. Shortly after joining Jim was tasked with the duties of treasurer before being elected to the assistant Chief position in 2008. He is certified in Firefighter I, Water Rescue, Dive Rescue and High Angle Rescue. Jim and his wife Jacque are the proud parents of Daughter Autumn and Grandson Jaxson. Jim is a local business owner as well as being a member of the Okoboji City Council. He and his wife love taking part in almost any outdoor activity.

Amy Badgley – EMS Captain (5904)
Nichole Duncan – EMS Captain (5904)
Nichole joined the department in July of 2015, shortly after joining Nichole was elected as EMS Co-Captain. She started her career in EMS by becoming an EMT in 2012. Nichole developed a passion for EMS and decided to continue on to receive a certification as paramedic. Currently Nichole is a Certified Paramedic and works at Lakes Regional Healthcare. Outside of EMS she enjoys outdoors activities such as hunting, fishing, and kayaking.
Mark Peterson – Dive Team Captain (5905)
Captain Mark Petersen has been on the department since 2001. Mark is in charge of the departments dive team and water and ice rescue divisions. Mark is a certified PADI Rescue Diver, Dive Rescue Certified Diver, Firefighter I, and Search and Rescue technician Level I. During free time Mark enjoys boating and spending time with family and his three grandkids. He enjoys snowmobiling in the winter and travelling with his wife Cheri.
Andy Yungbluth – Communications (5906)
Andy started with the fire and rescue in 2012. Previously Andy served on the Royal Fire and rescue from 1996 to 2012. Andy is a certified EMT-B, FFI, FFII, Vehicle Rescue Technician and is certified in many aspects of fire and rescue. He has had a life-long love for the fire and EMS services. Andy obtained his EMT-B as a senior in high school. He also has a love for the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing and shooting. Andy is currently employed by the City of Arnolds Park as a police officer. He enjoys spending time with his wife Laura and his two sons Brayden and Kolton.
Tom Struthers – Secretary Lieutenant
Joining the department in 2005 Tom was just going to help out at a couple of fires here and there, he was excited about learning and helping people but before he knew it he was responding to all different kinds of calls. He quickly became a EMT which allowed him to respond to even more life saving calls. In 2006 he received the EMT person of the year and has enjoyed every minute of helping out the residents of the community. Looking to help others and serve more people Tom entered the United States Air Force in 2008 and left the department for active duty at RAF Mildenhall England where he served 6 years finishing out his service in Eglin AFB Florida. Returning to the department in 2014 Tom was voted as Secretary Lieutenant position taking care of records, meetings and other administrative tasks. He currently lives in Arnolds Park with his wife Megan, and his 2 boys William and Adrian. When he is not responding to calls he enjoys being with his family and helping people at his business MAWIN TECHNOLOGIES, INC. Where he provides IT support to many area businesses.
