Air Boat

In 2007, a fundraising campaign was kicked off to replace a homemade airboat that the department was using for ice rescue.  The boat was considered no longer safe to operate and was not patient friendly.  Funds were quickly raised thanks to the efforts of Emil and Herman Richter as well as department member Duane Zahradnick.  The new boat was delivered to the area and put into operation in January of 2008.  The boat, which was built by 1000 Island Airboats in Canada, boasts a 350hp Chevrolet crate motor for power that is connected to a tri-blade propeller.  The cabin is heated and sealed from the elements to keep
